Over the years we have had many incredible helpers and visitors from Afghanistan. The news coming from Afghanistan these past weeks have been extremely distressing to both see and hear. We all can do something, to help support Afghani people, both in Afghanistan and where they may be resettled in these coming months. The following are just a few suggestions and tips on where to get started.
Support:
- Participate (in line with your local COVID-19 restrictions) in protests in your local/national areas.
- Think about signing petitions such as https://www.change.org/p/create-safe-passages-from-afghanistan-kabul-taliban
- Write to your local council/MP and ask what they are doing to support newly settled refugees in your area.
Donate:
There are still International Organisations who have stayed in Afghanistan and continue to provide support on the ground where and when it is needed. Some examples are:
