Thank you for all the messages and signs we have received since announcing our closure. It's great to hear that OHF has been supported and loved by so many people. We are still heartbroken that we had to make this decision, but we are sure that the spirit of One Happy Family will continue to be carried out into the world by all the people who have been part of OHF over the years.
|
In recent weeks, the daily work at the Victoria Community Center has continued as usual. Many people continue to visit us every day. However, the number of visits has increased so much that our small team has reached its limits. To relieve our team, we have unfortunately decided to suspend the daily food distribution for the time being.
|
But there is also good news, namely that our partner organisations are doing everything they can to keep the community center alive. The last few months were therefore also characterised by making the transition from a VCC with to a VCC without OHF as smooth as possible. We as OHF will continue to pay our share of the rent until autumn. However, as we will be withdrawing from all other tasks and activities, there are a lot of things to coordinate and clarify. As our partners are not in the most comfortable financial positions either, we are all trying to preserve this place together. A crowdfunding campaign was therefore jointly launched to ensure the survival of the VCC in the coming months.

The money raised will extend operations for six months and allow partners to apply for grants and additional funding to continue the project. In 2023, the number of new arrivals seeking refuge in Greece has risen sharply compared to the previous year. All partner organisations in the VCC are therefore determined not to let them down, despite the withdrawal of OHF.
|
We would therefore like to recommend this crowdfunding so that the place created by OHF together with its partners can continue to exist in the future and remain a place of joy, togetherness and learning from each other. Thank you very much if you can support this vision with a donation.
